War as an Instrument of Political Policy: Clausewitzian Analysis of Operation Zarb-E-Azb
Abstract
The article examines C.V. Clausewitz’s view of War as an instrument of political policy, and its viability as a model criterion to evaluate modern military operations like Operation Zarb-e- Azb.The significance of Clausewitz’s theory lies in its practicability. Through juxtaposing Clausewitzian views and the facts from the field of warthe level of compatibility has been traced. The study has provided substantialevidence to conclude that Operation Zarb-e-Azb has been initiated and concluded in accordance with Clausewitzian view, and that, it can also be followedas an approach to study and evaluate other similar military operations.
