US Management of Border Disputes with Pakistan and India during 2001-2015
Abstract
This research paper attempted to explain the US-foreign policy for Pakistan and India. It took account of the main area of the relations that acted as conflicted nature for India and Pakistan post 2001 till 2015, namely, Border Disputes and upon this the US-management is been analyzed. Case studies of prominent border disputes i.e. Sir Creek, Siachen and Kashmir have been taken into account. This study finds that the USA foresee to promote peace in the region, but tilt towards the India is prominent for its huge economic market (and other incentives) for managing the relations. On the issue of Kashmir, the US has been active in mediating since beginning of the issue but due to India’s attitude to resolve issue without a mediator; the US foreign policy in this regard could not give fruits.
