Historical Analysis of Federalism in Pakistan from Partition to 1973 Constitution
Abstract
The history of federalism in Pakistan has been discussed in this paper. The inception of Pakistan, foundations of federal system, its evolution with the passage of time and its effectiveness in the context of governance in Pakistan has been laid out in the paper. The paper examines comprehensively the constitutional efforts in the shape of 1956, 1962, and the ultimate 1973. The 18th amendment which is considered to be epic has also been studied with its effects to the federalism and federal practices in the country. The mechanism of federalism as a key method to the solutions of all the problems in Pakistan especially with provinces obtaining more power has also been discussed in the research.
