Ethical Development of Young University Players through Involvement in Sports
Abstract
The research aims to determine the relationship between sports involvement and ethical development (autonomy, collectivism, common good, dignity, and productivity) of young university players. Sports involvement increases young people assets and encourages positive conclusions for young people by providing chances, developing positive relation¬ships, and delivering the support needed to build their leadership strengths. Data was collected from 250 university student players through adapted and modified questionnaire. Descriptive statistics, Pearson’s correlation analysis, and linear regression analysis were employed to analyze the collected data. The findings indicated that involvement in sports was significantly associated with ethical development of young university players. It was concluded that sports involvement of university players may source of ethical development in their practical lives and ponder a positive sign for healthy society. Recommendations were yielded for director sports, sports officers, and coaches in line with administration to improve ethical development of student players at universities
