The Mediating Role of Self-Efficacy Between Emotional Intelligence and Employees' Creativity

Abstract

Employees' creativity has been an area of concern in the public healthcare sector of Balochsitan, Pakistan. This study aims to examine the direct and indirect effect of emotional intelligence on employees' creativity through self-efficacy. The data for the study was collected from 94 employees working in People’s Primary HealthCare Initiatives (PPHI) through a self-administered survey and was analysed using PLS-SEM through Smart PLS software. The findings of the study revealed that EI is positively related to employees' creativity and self-efficacy. The study also showed that self-efficacy has a positive relationship with employees' creativity. Moreover, the results revealed that self-efficacy mediated the impact of EI on employees' creativity. The findings of this study are crucial for the management of the PPHI in designing policies and practices that enhance employees' self-efficacy and help improve their creativity. Results and discussion of the study are presented at the end.
