Assessment of Learning or Assessment for Learning: A Case Study of STEP Sunday School for Working Children
Abstract
This paper helps in conceptualizing different techniques of assessment in a non-formal education sector. In a developing country like Pakistan, there is a need to pay attention in non-formal education sector according to the changing trends of education. After the development of a NFE policy 2019of the country, it becomes more important to research the effects of the changing trends in non-formal education institutes working across the country. In the field of education, assessment is an important process of achieving possible learning outcomes. Mixed method approach was applied in collecting the data from different administration, head of department, junior and senior teachers working in STEP and other non-formal education institutes of the country. The findings indicate that mostly teachers focus on assessment of learning and are not aware of using assessment for learning. The results recommend that there is need to train teachers in the field of assessment.
